We’re now going to go over the clear cut steps which you can take to improve where you rank in google’s map listings.

Google Star Ranking Reviews

If we take a closer look at the screenshot below, you can see arrows pointing to the reviews tab for each of these map listings.

You’ll notice that the 1st listing has a star ranking associated with it (4.2/5 stars).

Once you are able to get 5 or more reviews via Google My Business, Google is able to display a star ranking along with your listing.

In the example above, Complete Landscaping Inc has 5 reviews. Google is able to display a star ranking for them.

Having this star ranking is extremely beneficial because:

  • it gives visitors incentive to click on your listing opposed to others
  • it stands out
  • good ratings build instant trust/credibility

Since Google only displays 3 map listings for most user searches, your business may not currently rank in the top 3.

This is especially true in many competitive industries (real estate, attorneys, chiropractors, etc).

By gaining more positive reviews from your customers on Google, you are able to show Google why your business is the best choice.

Google will them have incentive to move your ranking UP in order to display above your competitors.

The good news is that with the 3 simple screenshots I’ll provide for you below, you’ll be able to copy them in order to ask your own customers to leave a review………with ease.

1. The first step you’ll want to take is to locate your business listing on Google.

If you don’t see your business appear in the top 3 spots right away, simply hit the “More Places” tab (shown in the screenshot below). Then scroll down until you find your business.

Once you’ve located your business map listing, hit the “review tab” which I’ve labeled click here.

2. After you’ve done so, you’ll be displayed with the screenshot below.

3. Then click “Write A Review.” Doing so will take you to the last step below.

Customers can then leave a review for your business.

Note: The only limitation people have leaving reviews is that you need to have a gmail account to leave a google review. Though this may be a little frustrating since not everyone has gmail or wants to take a minute to make one, a majority of customers will have a gmail account.

Gaining reviews via Google My Business is one of the top places you can get reviews online that can directly impact your rank position.
